writings from the 16 hundreds

I help run a Family History Center.... at the moment I am reading an old film from the 16 and early 17 hundreds. I am Dutch and don't read it very well but all these records are in Latin...so doubly hard.....what is REALLY fascinating is....My mother's maiden name is Reijnen, her mother was a Cloosterman...so a Reijnen married an Cloosterman....now to my utter surprise last night, I found in these early records that the Cloosterman and Reijnen families had children and were Godparents to each others families......hmmmmmmmmmmm a bit of in breeding.....explains all my problems....no really!!!! how amazing that 300 odd years ago my family were related...and then later on in my research on the same film my Father's name pops up (Van Den Broek)....I guess they never moved very far away from that area.....I am blessed  that I am Dutch 100% so far as I can go back....not so for so many families who have a mixture of Nationalities and many moves around the countries.......I love the work of Family History......it's very inspiring to find family.
My family so far are just plain hardworking people......so far no criminals or royality ....... which is what people love to find!!!
