I was about 16 here and Hairdressing, when I went to Holland several years ago now My Dutch Family brought out this photo and gave it to me, once they realized that the only copy that was around was in the Netherlands, I happily took it home with me and have loved looking at it ever since. My Mother was a Regal Lady and my Father a happy person...although they both suffered greatly due to severe Strokes and poor Dad with a worse disability......the only reason I'm not writing it is because I can't spell it.... well here goes Altzihmers, I know it's wrong but you know what I'm writing...... Dad was a hard worker...I can remember when we first arrived in Australia and we lived in Fremantle....accommadation was scarce ...he obtained a job in Forrestfield in a Saw Mill... he would ride a bike to Canning Bridge put the bike under the Bridge ( couldn't do that now) catch a bus into Perth, then a bus into Forrestfield. and the same coming back.
He would leave while still dark and come home when it was dark...no doubt exhausted.....even though we didn't have very much at all. I really cannot say I ever went hungry....except for lollies ( which I took care of myself ) we had a roof over our heads a toy each and love.
in all my early years I can only remember my Mother and Father being angry at each other once. I'm sure they did..but it was never in front of me.....I have much to be grateful for.
