An amazing day of taking Photo's

Loved every minute of taking photo's with my Camera I have a wonderful light...when the Sun shines on it in the morning my Lounge Room dances with Prisms ...I have been on a journey of Light and Movement and captured a controlled burn off up the Hill...and then there is Noble Falls  ...Noble it is in my eyes just love it

Orange Creeper oh no !!

Oh yes it does look beautiful and each year it was a sight to behold...

But it killed everything underneath and took over everywhere......I asked My Tony to cut it back a little and as he got into it the truth be known....there were layers of dead growth underneath...so each year I would admire it and then the next year the same ...I never thought of what happened to last years beauty.....now we know it died as one whole layer.....thick and stringy and suffocating everything..... it took Tony 8 hours of hard labour trying to pull it away...the next day he was out in it again several more hours.

As much of this pile lies out here the same amount lay in a trailer and on the other side of the fence....So his little job turned out to be a huge job...poor darling and I did have a list of other jobs that needed to be done.......I'm not sure that he is excited about all that..... as he is nursing some cuts and blisters.........good analogy...not everything that looks so gorgeous on the outside is so gorgeous underneath !!

If you look beyond the fence you will see the other pile and in the trailerPosted by Picasa

Jacaranda Trees

One of the delights around everywhere you look is the Jacaranda Trees just splashes of purple in every which way and it's a great delight.....I would love to fly in a helicopter (maybe Tony could fly take me up in a light plane) just to take photo's of them......in every suburb you see them...and as I am seriously considering becoming a red hatter...purple is the in colour for me right now.......don't cringe girls Mother is getting older and it may be time to join the old girls league......

My magnificent obsession with Nature

The simplicity complexity and the colour of Nature...I could spend many hours just looking at them.

How could we ever not acknowledge one greater then us. The world can be in chaos but there are some things that stay the same. Thank Goodness.

Stored Dry Dog Food or WHAT !!!

I could hardly believe what I was looking at...I thought I would get some dry dog food to store..it had been in my cupboard only 10 months and look at what it is now!!!!!!....a Home for THE Most persistant PANTRY MOTH......it was only about 6 months ago where every container and every lid even cans were wiped and cleaned...we thought we had got rid of them !!!! but alas I did not check the contents of this container of dry dog food.

I threw everything..... container and all...... wrapped it in plastic bags and in the rubbish bin it went...I didn't even want to empty it in case some escaped.......We are still in disbelief !!!! I don't think I will ever get rid of them as I also found them in a opened milo tin...you think that they just would not get into it with the lid being so sealed......I have re-checked everything.....and will keep my beady eyes on things...well try to.  We hold out little hope...for a Moth free Kitchen....

First Burn Offs

From our house we could see the Fire Brigade doing there burn offs in the Hills preparing for the Summer Months and the problems with bush Fires.......
When I was a child I lived in Forrestfield ....which then was considered the bush, the street we lived on only had about 8 houses on it.... no electricity and no running water..( now called Berkshire rd ) except a creek that ran along our property...which we loved to play in...hated the leeches that we would have to pick of our bodies after each dip.........but all the time we lived there amongst the trees and shubbery not one bush fire nor did we ever hear about it in the surrounding areas.

Two seperate sites we saw on the same day.....I have it from good authority that todays bush fires are mainly caused by humans...sad hey !!!

The Pamphlett

So Silly isn't it.....but since seeing the Pamphlett I have fallen more in love with the Reserve....apparently the part closest to us has only just been set apart as a Reserve....so now that it is all legal etc. it can't be touched...thank goodness as there are two of the biggest trees on that patch.
The Cemetary is the white L section on the left ....it's quite tiny really...we live right opposite the little black stick figure on the middle of the bottom of this page.

The Lady who I spoke to who is the Spokesperson for the Reserve told me that there are wildflowers and little animals in their that aren't anywhere else in W.A.....it's because of the type of soil that is there.
OK Enough of the Reserve Already .....anyone for a stroll through the beauty ?

First Spring Flowers in OUR RESERVE

A favourite....a Kangaroo Paw

Bacon and eggs won't bore you with the correct name of them but that is what the locals call them there are hundreds of different varieties

Oh I could spend a big part of my life next door taking pictures...it's very boring walking with me as I deviate and find all sorts of little treasures and I'm slow ...just in case I miss that special one....Tony and I plan to go for a long and deep walk into OUR RESERVE (we have now claimed it as ours).. this weekend........can't wait to go in with my macro lens......I'm hoping one day to buy a wide angle lens...then I will be complete. Camera Wise that is.

A beautiful Lechenaultia
I can remember when I was a young girl and I joined the Girl Guides and the troop I was put in was called Lechenaultia  gosh is that even spelt right, anyway I though what an ugly name..never having seen the flower...I wished so hard to be on another team just because of the name.....But now like my name Lajla !! I love it.....just look at the blue colour.Posted by Picasa

Nature Reserve

Went for a walk across the road and was thrilled with all the flowers and shrubbery....We received a wonderful Pamphlet on Talbot Reserve Park ......and was delighted that we life right next to it....we always talk about the Cemetary....but actually that is such a little part of it.........so from now on I will refer to it as the Reserve....the Pamphlet detailed the different areas of trees and that there are Nature Walks on in the evening listening to all the different frogs....We are going on that tour and we will take the kids with us...there are other walks as well....... So guess what...we are thrilled, never really realized that we life next door to such a treasure....decided not to move ...but just make our place safer.
Also Greenmount Library had free booklets on wildflowers in Darlington and surrounds....wonderful and so detailed....Rebecca was kind enough to get one for me.....am loving this time of year.
