Street Carnival

This is part of a Street Carnival, that my Mother used to enjoy, it seems that there was a great neighbourly community.
My Mother is right in the center with a white hat on you can only see her face...My Opa was a Barber and his shop is in the picture with A.A.Reijnen on the window. the family lived upstairs...I can remember being there and the big old clock that used to ring out it's loud chimes. I went back to this shop when I was in Holland...felt quite emotional...it is now a house, top and bottom.
we would be surprised how small the rooms are in these old houses. I would feel quite cramped. I think this Celebration was when Nijmegen the Town was 700 years old....Unfortunalety during the 2nd World War it was bombed by the Allies as they thought it was part of Germany, it's quite close to the Border..so many of it's beautiful Buildings are gone.
