Well today I'm 66....do I feel it...strange question really... as how does one feel when you've never been there before.......so I don't know really I feel the same as when I was 65...... as I have been writing about births I thought I would add mine...I know very little but here goes....This is what I have been told...During Labour Mum could hear bombs going off..I was born in Holland during the war and where we were situated was not far from the German border....actually when I went to Holland I was surprised that a ten minute drive and we were in Germany......I dare say though that she cared very little about the bombs as she said it was a long and hard labour...I think the saddest part is that no one had ever told her what to expect and she really thought that her belly button was going to split open and that I would appear from there...sad hey !!!
When I was born I didn't breath and I was apparently dipped in a cold then hot bath to get me breathing....
Thats all I know.
I was a much loved little girl...only had one brother five years younger.

Bitumen DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT!!!!
I came home from a day at the Dr's well it seemed like a day was there from 8.30 till midday had a whooping cough due to a terrible mini epidemic ( don't want to pass anything on to our little ones) and flu injections and other things that needed to be looked at and then went to do some shopping....oh no I forgot I had a lovely painful neck and shoulder massage by this Chinese man...it's been good I try and do that each week ....I think it has been the reason why my shoulder has been working as it should .... Came home at 2.30 and our road finally has a bitumen surface on it hooray !!!!!!! no more dust .... I am a happy little vegemite...

Ask me about DUST!!!!!
I am soooooooo over the work on our road ...wouldn't be so bad if it was raining and we didn't have crazy drivers skidding around our corner.....making dust...... last weekend the corner was one continual dust bowl.... each night and on the weekends they let traffic through and thats the problem........the other morning when I woke up I actually had grime and grit all over my face...even though my windows are closed ..... I probably sleep with my mouth wide open which we do when we snore and I'm assuming that I do... goodness knows what is in my stomach or lungs. Maybe I could have a little plot of vegies in there !!!! haha

Leo's Birthday
This is one of my favourite pictures of Leo. Today is his birthday and for those who know it is truly a special day.... 6th of April......how lucky to be born on this unique day..of all my babies his was the easiest birth.....again as before I needed to have my waters broken it seemed to me that I would never go into natural labour....but it was a good one, well is it ever good !!!!! but because I can compare, it was good..Leo was upside down bottom first ..the Dr. moved him the right way down but I hadn't even walked out of his surgery when he flipped back..... but sometime before his delivery he flipped himself back again...
Due to the long labour I had had with Jack my first baby.... 36 hours I thought I was in for a long haul and because of that George went home..I believe he painted, I seemed to recall it might have been Ray Charles, he used to paint really well, not sure if he still does...I would have liked him there, but in those days it wasn't encouraged as it is today. You can sure do with that kind of support though....
I find that I can cope better with labour as long as I can walk and walk I did... up and down a little corridor in the Labour Ward...I thought my gosh this labour is getting pretty intense...and the nurse could see that I was struggling walking.."lets have a little look dear, she said"...oh I could hardly get onto the bed..."Oh my dear the head is crowning lets get you up onto the delivery table quick"......sure enough a couple of pushes and Leo was here.... he took his first breath and in went his cute little thumb straight into his mouth....ooohhh he loved his thumb ...He was a wonderful little man, he did all the right things, sleeping when he should and drinking well, he was a dream to look after...... I really felt that I heard a choir singing after his birth call me strange but I know that I did. I think a woman is so close to the other side during and after birth.
Katie always said it was a Choir singing
Alleluia ...because he was gone from there........of course it was a family joke...Katie always adored her brothers.
Missing him today and wishing him the best....not sure where he is...can only leave a message on his phone. He was named after my Dad Leonardus and Leo Searle the husband of a Couple Missionary who were serving in Kalgoorlie at the time..... I always feel that my Dad is watching over my Boy well really not a boy but Man as he is 43...But you know for me he will always be my Boy!!!!

Mac Donald's Circus
Why pay money to go and see tricks when you have so many talented people right at home, we even have the animals who do there own thing like escape from an impossible little hole in the fence and turn up uninvited to the barbecue you are attending....We have acrobatics from the prettiest girl and handsome boy you could imagine, we have a bouncy castle that our little 10 month old did amazing tricks in like getting in and out !!!!! We have a little girl who has her own language and everyone seems to understand her...and two little girls who do wonderful Tongan dances.... then we have the trampoline that some of our children do incredible flippy flops on, then there is the incredible skills with balls and bats wow what a site to see !!!!! oh did I mention the chooks well...they leave their little marks in obscure places....which make the adults do all sorts of high, low, long, short, funny walks.... So give me this Circus anytime..PLUS MY HEART IS HERE ALSO..
Nanna is 92
Nanna is 92, we all got together at Nic's, well most of us....we missed Naomi, Katie and families but Nanna was happy it doesn't take much to please her....Always in the past it was Naomi who would bring yummy sweets and she no doubt would have made a delicious Birthday cake for Nanna, I asked Tony to remind me to buy one on Saturday but we both forgot, so out came choc chip hot cross buns...with a candle stuck in the middle...she was happy..we all sang Happy Birthday to her...she is quite amazing really she is on the ball and totally independant.

Moths Moths and more Moths !!!!!
Fekita, Sione's sister from Tonga has been cleaning out my pantry's and I have lost a quarter of all my goods, due to moths..The more she did the more she found.....We knew we had a problem but not to the extent we had. They were in rice had to throw out nearly all of that which was at least 20 kilo's...not those that had been sealed in the foils thank goodness..I had some Goji beans and they were thick in there as well as a large container of peanuts....let alone the flour....everything is now being foiled or vacuumed.....oh yes even in my herbs which I had all re- done in special containers......I think it is best left in their original jars...that was not a good idea ...even though it did look so nice and orderly.
Tony and I are dumbfounded how these moths can get into tightly screwed containers....yes I did freeze the rice etc for 72 hours before putting them into my pantry.
Even if you have one moth....sorry but you are doomed...you MUST get rid of them straight away...I have found Pantry Moth sticky catchers to be great but obviously not great enough.....I thought they were really doing the job but it was far worse then we could have imagined....even now after everything has been wiped and cleaned I still have found a couple of them flying around.......sorry but even fly spray doesn't work they seem to shake it of, while I'm coughing and spluttering this little !!!!!! fall down and then eventually get up and fly again.....love to know the answer to this awful problem.......HELP !!!
